This website was created for the use of the Auburn Democratic Town Committee, of which I am a member. While nominally ADTC is about electing democrats, my personal focus is on democracy itself. We are all Americans first, and our loyalty should be to one another as national siblings and children of God, before party.

In his farewell address George Washington gave a warning about factions, describing them as a fire. Controlled it can warm our homes, uncontrolled it can burn our houses down.

The choice and responsibility is ours. Every generation must rise to its unique challenges.

P.S. Any local candidate may submit materials and I will host a page for them at this site until the election. Congratulations to all the recent winners.

What unites us is far greater than what divides us. -JFK

Great Leaders Share Fundamental Values

History, faith, and reason show the way--the way of unity. We can see each other, not as adversaries, but as neighbors. We can treat each other with dignity and respect. We can join forces, stop the shouting, and lower the temperature. For without unity, there is no peace, only bitterness and fury.

How can we love our country and not love our countrymen; and loving them, reach out a hand when they fall, heal them when they're sick, and provide opportunity to make them self-sufficient so they will be equal in fact and not just in theory?

In these days of difficulty, we Americans everywhere must and shall choose the path of social justice...the path of faith, the path of hope, and the path of love toward our fellow man.

Throughout America's adventure in free government, our basic purposes have been to keep the peace; to foster progress in human achievement, and to enhance liberty, dignity and integrity among people and among nations. To strive for less would be unworthy of a free and religious people. Any failure traceable to arrogance, or our lack of comprehension or readiness to sacrifice would inflict upon us grievous hurt both at home and abroad.
